GMC201 Seabed CPT System

The GMC201 seabed CPT system delivers a maximum push capacity of 200 kN (20 tonnes), enabling the recovery of high-quality in situ soil data to depths of 40 m or more below the seabed, depending on ground conditions. The system is designed to operate in water depths up to 800 m and can be extended to operate in water depths of up to 2,000 m.
The system provides a continuous profile of tip resistance, sleeve friction and pore water pressure, supporting the derivation of key engineering parameters including in situ shear strength in cohesive soils and relative density in non-cohesive soils.

The GMC201 is equipped with twin electric motors driving the chain system, providing controlled and reliable penetration performance across a range of ground conditions.
The system can be configured with a range of cone sizes (10 cm² or 15 cm²) and can optionally be deployed with seismic CPT cones, T-bar and ball PCPT equipment, allowing testing methodologies to be tailored to project-specific requirements.
Designed for operational flexibility, the system can be mobilised on a vessel of opportunity or deployed from Geoquip Marine’s DP2 fleet, enabling rapid mobilisation and efficient integration into offshore site investigation campaigns.
