Honouring the Life and Legacy of Andrew Wright

It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the passing of Andrew (“Andy”) Wright, the founder of Geoquip Marine. Andy’s funeral took place on Friday 26 September 2025 in Switzerland and a UK gathering will be held on 23rd October at the Ring ‘o’ Bells in Bath. If you would like to attend, please contact James Miller James.Miller@geoquip-marine.com

Andy was not only an entrepreneur with extraordinary vision but also a man of warmth, humour and generosity. He had an unparalleled ability to see the upside in every downside. Many of us remember when a maiden project was cancelled just after the mobilisation of the Dina Polaris. While spirits were low, Andy reminded us that what we gained was a world-class asset that would set us apart for years to come. He was right.

Those who worked closely with him recall his unique combination of business acumen, curiosity and kindness. He believed that business excellence begins with trust among colleagues, clients and families alike. His influence touched every part of Geoquip, shaping the company into what it is today.

Andy cared deeply about Geoquip Marine and remained engaged with our strategy and future direction, taking pride in how far we had come and being excited about what lay ahead. He will be remembered not only for the vessels and projects he helped bring to life but for the people he inspired to do the right thing the right way.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and all who knew and loved him. Andy’s legacy lives on in the spirit of Geoquip Marine and in the values he instilled in us.
