Geoquip was recently contracted to perform offshore geotechnical services for an LNG port development off the coast of Jamaica in Old Harbour Bay. The MV Investigator, which had just completed a large site investigation off the Chilean coast in the Pacific, was mobilised to Jamaica within two weeks of contract signature. On site, the MV Investigator completed a 63 borehole programme within 4 weeks, incident and injury free. The Client commended Geoquip for doing a great job: “Great to work with Geoquip, you guys have been one of the best contractors to work with”. The data will enable our Client to design the required mooring facilities and pipelines for the proposed LNG port development.
Geoquip recently mobilised one of our deepwater heave compensated geotechnical drillrigs onto the Dina Polaris. The Dina Polaris is a brand new Multi Function Offshore Support Vessel which, at 99m in length and a beam of 21m, offers an extremely stable platform for offshore geotechnical drilling operations. Her minimal environmental footprint has earnt the Dina Polaris the “CLEAN DESIGN” certificate. The drilling tower is capable of handling up to 2,500m of drillpipe positioning the spread in the very deepwater market. The vessel is ice classed “1A”, the highest available Ice Class classification under DNV. Currently, she has confirmed work in Europe and the Middle East and we are keen to accommodate any requirements you may have. Please do not hesitate to contact us for further information.
Geoquip has recently commenced an environmental and geotechnical campaign in the Black Sea, mapping the seabed for one of our major clients. The Shark is currently operating in the Black Sea , taking 6m piston core samples, box cores and various water samples. Let us know if you are interested in this setup as she is due to complete her operations early October and would be available for any survey work you would have in the area.
