POSEIDON-1 + GMTR150
DESIGNED & BUILT FOR TOUGH MARINE ENVIRONMENTS
The Poseidon-1 is a DP2 vessel, designed and built in Japan in 2015 to the highest standards of finish and technology. It has a very powerful dynamic positioning system which enables the vessel to work in challenging marine environments.
The vessel is fitted with the GMTR150 drilling package which includes one of the most capable wireline CPT/push sampler/piston sampler spreads in the offshore market today. A full pressure coring spread and logging while drilling (LWD) system can be made available for markets such as gas hydrates.
Downhole string length down to 3500m water plus borehole depth. Ram hoist system with twin wire suspension giving safe, efficient and compensated handling of the drill string and all in-hole tooling.
A comprehensive range of wireline downhole sampling tools are available including downhole push/piston sampling equipment and wireline coring equipment. Can also utilise 6⅝” API drill string to allow large diameter coring.
Also available is a full pressure coring spread for deep water sampling, such as those demanded by the gas hydrate market.
Fitted with a wireline operated, 3m PCPT tool for cone penetration testing with pore water pressure measurement. Downhole PS wave logger available as required.
ON-BOARD SOIL LABORATORY
The Geoquip Marine soil laboratory is fitted on-board Poseidon-1, enabling our geotechnical engineers to immediately conduct soil classification and determine strength parameters for design, analysis and assessments in real time whilst offshore. The data allows our engineers to do spudcan penetration and/or pile capacity/installation analysis onboard as the borehole progresses, allowing an optimisation of the actual borehole depth.
The laboratory is equipped with the necessary tools to conduct standard soil testing experiments. Routine sample handling, photography, classification and storage are part of the everyday work process in the laboratory. The scope of work performed on samples varies and can be tailored to your project.
Recovered samples are stored in a temperature-controlled environment prior to shipment to an onshore facility.
Poseidon-1 can also carry, as an option, Geoquip Marine’s GMC201 20T seabed unit.
The unit can be rapidly deployed when your project requires in situ testing, in either shallow or deep water, offering faster turnaround and lower costs.
The seabed system can be deployed through the vessel’s moonpool using the rig derrick and compensation system.
